Barcelona's Ivan Rakitic out a month with muscle tear, according to reports

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic will miss up to a month with a leg injury picked up in the Blaugrana's 3-0 defeat of BATE Borisov on Wednesday, according to reports in Spain.

Rakitic had to be taken off in the 18th minute of the group stage win at Camp Nou and was taken directly to the trainers room upon his exit from the pitch.

The club says the Croatia midfielder tore a muscle in his right leg in the first half of its 3-0 win over BATE Borisov in the Champions League on Wednesday. He was replaced by Munir El Haddadi.

There was no indication as to when he would be fit to return, including for Barca's Nov. 21 clash against Real Madrid.

"Whenever a player is injured it is not good," Barcelona boss Luis Enrique said after the match.

"It happened at the start of the game, we will have to see what the doctors say, how the player is. But he's out of the next game for sure.

"We are having many problems in that area [midfield], it is not good, makes it harder to rest other players. The objective will be to get [Rakitic] fit again, not back for any particular game."
