Neymar could make Barcelona return against Malaga - Luis Enrique

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique says Neymar could make his first appearance of the season in Saturday's La Liga clash with Malaga at the Camp Nou.

Neymar, 23, has missed the start of Barca's campaign due to a bout of the mumps, sitting out their 5-4 European Super Cup win over Sevilla, the 5-1 aggregate defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup, and last weekend's 1-0 La Liga opener win at Athletic's San Mames.

But the Brazil captain -- who has been linked with a move to Manchester United -- has returned to full training with his colleagues, and looks ready to take his place in Barca's all-South American attacking trident alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Blaugrana coach Luis Enrique said at a news conference on Friday that a final selection decision had not been made for Saturday afternoon's game, but that Neymar's slight body-shape meant he did not need many training days to get close to peak condition.

"[Neymar] looks very good to me," Luis Enrique said. "He is almost recovered, but the normal situation of someone who has not played for two weeks. Nobody is at 100 percent at this stage. He has a special physical shape. Being light he gets fit quickly, and that opens up the possibility of playing tomorrow."

Barca should also be able to call on Sergio Busquets for the Malaga game, with the midfielder having recovered from the ankle knock which forced him off during last Sunday's game at San Mames.

"First off [Busquets] has been able to train since Thursday, and he looks very good to me," he said. "But tomorrow we will decide how he is."

Gerard Pique remains suspended and Dani Alves is definitely out with an adductor muscle issue, and other right-back options Douglas and Adriano Correia are also injured.

Midfielder Sergi Roberto looks set to fill in at right-back, with Luis Enrique praising the 23-year-old La Masia graduate's versatility.

"If you play one position it can be hard to get it perfect, so imagine when you change," he said. "[Sergi Roberto] is a useful all-rounder for a coach -- he can play very well at holding midfield, full-back and central midfielder. He has some things to improve on, but he is capable of doing that."

Javi Gracia's Malaga side pulled off one of the shocks of the 2014-15 campaign with their 1-0 win in this fixture last year, and also held Luis Enrique's side to a goalless draw at home last term, meaning they were the only opponent in any competition who Barca faced and were unable to beat.

The Asturian coach said their first meeting of the new season would be a useful barometer to see how his team had improved.

"Of course it is useful," Luis Enrique said. "And the same coach is there [at Malaga], although some players have changed. It will be difficult and it is an attractive challenge for us. I like it that Malaga are the first visitor in La Liga, to see if we have improved."

The former Roma coach said he was looking forward to returning to his old club in the Champions League after Thursday's group stages draw brought the two sides together along with Shakhtar Donetsk and Bayer Leverkusen.

"I am delighted to return to a marvellous city and to see fans who I appreciate," Luis Enrique said. "Our group is not as tough as Sevilla's, but it is a tough group. Roma were the most difficult team in the third seeds, and Bayer almost knocked out Atletico [last season].

"But we are the champions and we will try and do what nobody has yet done in the modern era, to win the Champions League two seasons in a row."

Luis Enrique accepted that Messi, who was named UEFA's 2014-15 Best Player in Europe at Thursday's draw in Monaco, could be compared with sprinting superstar Usain Bolt.

"I saw the race on Twitter, and it could be a good comparison," he said. "The best sprinter in the world and the best footballer."
