Barcelona left Pedro on the bench for Tuesday's UEFA Super Cup as his future with the club remains uncertain.
Pedro is reportedly set to complete a £20 million move to Manchester United, but manager Luis Enrique and the club have insisted they want Pedro to stay at the Camp Nou this summer.
"I would like to have all of our players all season," Luis Enrique said on Monday. "We have already spoken too much about Pedro. We will have a solution soon. I haven't put or taken a football player on or off the market."
Barcelona sporting director Roberto Fernandez told Spain's TV3 on Tuesday that Pedro has asked to leave the club, AS reported.
Rafinha starts up front for Barcelona as they take on last season's Europa League champions Sevilla.
Neymar will miss two weeks after contracting mumps.
Adriano has sufficiently recovered from a thigh injury to secure a place on the bench.
