Pedro buyout clause lowered as Barcelona winger reveals offers

Barcelona forward Pedro has revealed that his buyout clause has been reduced amid offers from other clubs.

Pedro, 27, has been linked with a move to Chelsea after failing to secure a place in the Barcelona first team after the arrival of Luis Suarez last summer.

He signed a new contract at Barcelona last month that lasts until 2019 and included a €150 million buyout clause, but that clause has now shrunk to €30m.

And the Spain international, who won the World Cup and European Championship with his country, admitted that he was in "a difficult situation" at the Camp Nou.

"It's true, we agreed to reduce the value of the buyout clause and it's true there are offers," he told Reuters. "I don't want to think about the future, I want to rest, remain calm, start preseason on Wednesday with the squad and we will see what happens after that."

Pedro joined Barcelona in 2005 and rose through the youth ranks, but was reduced to a bit-part role last season as the club won a historic Treble and started only 15 games in La Liga.
