Jordi Alba agrees Barcelona contract extension through to 2020

Barcelona have announced that they have reached an agreement with Jordi Alba over a contract extension.

Alba, 26, joined Barca from Valencia in 2012 after impressing during Spain's successful Euro 2012 campaign, signing a five-year deal with the Catalan club.

Since his arrival, he has gone on to make the left-back position his own, while helping the Blaugrana to two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and one Spanish Super Cup.

Barca announced on Tuesday morning Alba has been rewarded for his form at the Camp Nou and that he will sign a new contract, tying him down until 2020, over the coming days.

"FC Barcelona announce that they have reached an agreement with Jordi Alba to extend his contract until June 30, 2020," a Barca statement read.

"His new buy-out clause will be €150 million.

"The new contract will be signed in the next few days."

Alba is set to feature for Barca on Saturday when they take on Juventus in the Champions League final, with a win securing the Treble for the club.
