Barcelona coach Luis Enrique plays down Treble talk ahead of Copa final

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique says neither he nor his players are distracted by growing hype among their supporters that they will win the Treble ahead of Saturday's Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao at the Camp Nou.

Barca have already wrapped up this season's La Liga title, and many fans and pundits of the Catalan club are already looking past Saturday's Copa decider towards the following weekend's Champions League final against Juventus in Berlin.

Adding to the confidence among the Blaugrana faithful is that Barca beat Athletic in both the 2009 and 2012 Copa deciders, with the former part of the first treble in the club's history under then-coach Josep Guardiola.

But Luis Enrique told the pre-final news conference that his team had never allowed their minds to wander during the season so far, and they were not about to start now.

"We have not made that mistake at any moment of the season, we will not make it before a final," he said. "For fans to have faith in their team is a good thing. But the players, of both teams, know how difficult it is to win any trophy, that anything can happen over 90 minutes. That keeps you alert and focused, and knowing you must do things well to win the trophy."

The looming Champions League showpiece against Juventus had not been a factor in Barca's preparations in recent days, as Luis Enrique insisted he only had eyes for the next game.

"I am not preparing for two finals, just tomorrow's," he said. "I know Juve, I am a follower of Serie A, from my time there [as Roma coach]. But, that will happen next week. At the moment I am just focused on Athletic Bilbao. I would not put one trophy over another.

"For us it is basic to go for the double. These are chances that come, and might not have the chance again. We, and the players, are convinced we must take them. But in the end, it is a game of football, and our opponent has their chances too."

Luis Enrique suggested that centre-forward Luis Suarez, who has not played for two-and-a-half weeks due to a hamstring injury, would be fit to take his place alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar in attack against Athletic on Saturday.

"Suarez is very good," he said. "He has trained all week, and is available like the rest of his teammates."

Barca won both La Liga meetings between the teams this season, 2-0 at the Camp Nou in September, and 5-2 at San Mames in February. Luis Enrique said he expected two quite similar games, with Ernesto Valverde's team again causing his side lots of problems.

"They are many keys for sure, we will see out on the pitch what is the most important," he said. "Athletic press you, do not let you relax in any moment, it should be very similar to the La Liga meetings. You need to recognise the moments in the play when you can do them damage. We did not open scoring in Camp Nou until 79th minute, at San Mames it was a game with many chances, and a great performance from us."

The coach also scotched talk that playing as the "away" team in a Camp Nou -- which is likely to be at least half-full of Athletic supporters -- would affect Barca's performance.

"Being in the other dressing-room will be a bit strange, but we are players used to different types of situations," he said. "It is very special as it is our stadium, even though it is neutral for this game. Over history there have been teams playing in their own stadium being defeated. We expect a very different atmosphere, there could be more Athletic fans than Barca fans. But it should be perfect to play football."
