Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez have 'special relationship' at Barcelona

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has said there is "no hint of jealousy" in the relationship between his club's all-star strike force of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.

The three South Americans have been in excellent form in 2015, with Barca moving four points clear in the title race, reaching the Copa del Rey final and qualifying for the Champions League quarterfinals.

Pique told UEFA.com in quotes reported on Barca's official website that the "special relationship" between Messi, Suarez and Neymar was shown by the way they combined on the pitch.

"We are talking about the best players in the world," the defender said. "They understand each other perfectly. There is no hint of jealousy, and you can see that out on the field in their performances. They have a special relationship."

His comments came at a time of media speculation of issues in the relationship between Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale at rivals Real Madrid, with Los Blancos having stuttered since the turn of the year and lost the weekend's Clasico at the Camp Nou.

Barca coach Luis Enrique has fielded Messi in a nominal right-wing position this season, with Suarez as a more traditional striker -- an idea that was proving a success, Pique said.

"Leo knows how to read games perfectly because he is very intelligent," he explained. "He feels confident beginning on the wing and that has given Luis [Suarez] the chance to play through the middle, his ideal position.

"I think that is the right decision because the team has got better, Messi is as brilliant as ever and Suarez is giving us goals.

"Luis Enrique has a very clear idea and the team has understood that perfectly.

"He asks us to pressure high up the field and that when our opponents attack we can counter quickly, and with the pace we have up front, we try to take advantage of that space to get in between their lines."

However, he stressed that did not mean Barcelona had abandoned the possession style with which the club was associated.

"The style is the same as ever, but the truth is we have perfected it more and we have learned to play games that before we found more difficult," he added.

"I have never seen a Barca side that does not control the game. I have never seen a Barca side that doesn't have the ball and watches their opponents do all the attacking."
