Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets faces an anxious wait over his fitness after injuring ligaments in his ankle against Villarreal on Wednesday.
Busquets went in for a first-half tackle against Tomas Pina, who followed through his pass into the ankle of the Spanish international and left him in a heap. Minutes later, Busquets was substituted for Jeremy Mathieu and had to be carried off.
Barcelona confirmed that Busquets injured ligaments in his ankle, with further tests to come on Thursday. Marca reported that Busquets severely sprained his ankle.
"It was the night's bad moment," Luis Enrique said after the game. "Without knowing anything, he will be out for some days, we will have to wait and see how many."
Pina was later dismissed on 65 minutes for a lunging tackle that caught Neymar's foot.
Barcelona face Manchester City in the Champions League on March 18 with the clasico against Real Madrid on March 22.
