Barcelona must make Copa de Rey advantage the priority - Luis Enrique

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has said winning Wednesday's Copa del Rey semifinal first leg against Villarreal at the Camp Nou is more important than keeping a clean sheet.

Barca are hot favourites to win the tournament given their excellent recent run of results and the demise of holders Real Madrid to Atletico in the round of 16.

However, Villarreal have also been on a superb run and twice took the lead during their recent La Liga visit to the Camp Nou before losing 3-2 thanks to a superb Lionel Messi strike.

Luis Enrique told his prematch news conference that he wanted his team to defend better, but that gaining an advantage was his main concern.

"We will have the same mentality for tomorrow's game as in the La Liga meeting," he said.

"We are going out to win, and for the opponent to have few chances. Villarreal are having a spectacular season, and the game will be very difficult.

"It is important not to concede, and our first objective is to win. We will look to analyse the Liga game and see what things we can improve upon, how we can attack and find more solutions."

Barca's 5-2 La Liga win at Bilbao on Sunday was their ninth consecutive victory in all competitions, but their coach said it was too early to be satisfied with anything yet.

"The nine wins are very good," he added. "A coach always hopes his team can improve and get results. Positive runs lead to top confidence.

"[But] the coach does not enjoy anything. A coach is almost never happy, until the season ends and you achieve your objectives. At the end of the season, we will see what mark we get."

The coach also confirmed reports that Messi had been one of 10 Barca players, Neymar also among them, subject to a routine drugs test at training on Tuesday.

"There was a doping test for Leo and nine other players," he said. "We are well used to that."

He added that he was not concerned about Dani Alves' contract situation, saying a decision was not likely to be made until the end of the season.

"I do not talk about these situations," he said. "The club and the player [Alves] should be relaxed, it can all be resolved when the time comes, not in the middle of the season."
