Neymar in contention for Barcelona vs. Cordoba after ankle injury

Neymar is set to return to the Barcelona lineup for Saturday's La Liga game at home to Cordoba, Blaugrana coach Luis Enrique has revealed.

Brazil international Neymar missed both last Saturday's 0-0 draw at Getafe and Wednesday's 8-1 Copa del Rey win over third-tier Huesca with a minor ankle injury, but returned to full training on Friday morning.

The Barca coach told a news conference after that session that the left-sided member of Barca's big-name South American front three was available for selection again.

"Today Neymar has trained with the team," Luis Enrique said. "He is available to me. Tomorrow we will decide if he starts."

Last Saturday's goalless draw at Getafe brought a new round of criticism for the former Camp Nou favourite, with in-form Real Madrid moving four points clear in the table.

Luis Enrique denied that his team had suffered a blow to their confidence from that one result, pointing out Barca have won nine of their other 10 games in all competitions while a new coach and players were still settling in.

"I do not have the feeling that the team has lost confidence," he said. "We went there having won our eight previous games, and we deserved to win at Getafe. We had chances. If one had gone in we would be talking about an incredible run of results.

"This is my first season at the club. There are lots of new players too. We are in a logical process, normal during a campaign. We have many things to improve, but the judgments come at the end of the season.

The first-teamers who sat out Tuesday's Copa game are all set to return on Saturday afternoon, with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Gerard Pique, Claudio Bravo and Xavi Hernandez among those likely to start. Neymar's return to fitness may mean that Pedro Rodriguez drops to the bench, despite his hat-trick against Huesca in midweek.

Right-back Dani Alves remains a doubt with a thigh muscle problem, with utility man Adriano Correia, apparently unsettled Martin Montoya and underwhelming summer signing Douglas the options to replace him.

The visitors arrive on a three-game unbeaten run under recently installed coach Miroslav Djukic, but remain huge underdogs given they have won just one of their first 15 La Liga matches after being promoted last summer.

Luis Enrique said he expected Cordoba to sit deep and defend but that his side -- which have scored 24 times in seven La Liga games at the Camp Nou this term -- were not short on experience of dealing with such tactics.

"If there is anything we are used to, it is playing in these type of situations, with a rival closing up in defence," he said. "There are many solutions. We will aim to attack with order and good judgement. Cordoba could cause us danger on the counter, with [Nabil] Ghilas or wide players like Fidel or Borja."
