In a flashback to years past, Barcelona played to a 4-4 draw at Porto in a testimonial for Deco, who played one half for each club.
Barca's squad was made up mostly of players from their 2006 Champions League triumph, while Porto had players from their 2004 European championship.
Lionel Messi played the second half and scored for Barcelona, who also had Samuel Eto'o, Juliano Belletti, Gio van Bronckhorst, Ludovic Giuly, Sylvinho, Mark van Bommel, Oleguer Presas and Eidur Gudjohnsen. Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira were among the notable names for Porto.
Deco scored one goal for each side, while Eto'o scored twice for Barcelona.
"Deco deserved this, both as a footballer and as a person," said Messi. "He's a player I learned a lot from, as did so many other teammates. There was no way I was going to miss this event."

In other friendlies on Friday, Southampton won their fourth straight warm-up match, beating Bournemouth 1-0. The Saints controlled most of the action after Lloyd Isgrove's diving header on 20 minutes.
Crystal Palace got their first win in their American tour, beating the Philadelphia Union 1-0 on an Ethan White own goal in the 20th minute.
The Union had chances to equalise in the second half but could not find the net against Palace, who were coming off a 2-2 draw against another MLS team, the Columbus Crew, on Wednesday.
Elsewhere, West Bromwich Albion continued their positive preseason with a 3-1 win over USL-Pro side Sacramento Republic at Bonney Field.
The Baggies struck early and often; Saido Berahino's thunderous 13th minute volley began the scoring, Youssuf Mulumbu doubled their advantage before half-time and Victor Anichebe's long-range strike make it three for Alan Irvine's side just after the hour mark.
