Brisbane Roar won't get bullied by Perth Glory - John Aloisi

Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi has promised his side won't be pushed around by an expected physical onslaught from Perth Glory in their A-League clash at Suncorp Stadium.

The Glory have collected 12 yellow cards after three rounds -- the most of any team so far this season and a pointer to the no-nonsense approach Aloisi anticipates from Kenny Lowe's side on Sunday.

"I'm not saying we have to be physical [too], I'm just saying that we won't get bullied," Aloisi told reporters on Friday.

"Try and bully Luke DeVere -- he's a big boy, he's not going to take a step backwards.

"We're prepared, we know the way they're going to play -- we know they're going to come here, sit off, frustrate us, try and catch us on the break but we just need to be patient, make sure we play our game and not get too anxious.

"We won't get sucked into playing a dirty game. I don't think they play dirty anyway, Perth. They're just hard at the ball, and we have to be the same."

The Roar won their first game of the season last week, a slender 1-0 result away to Central Coast, but face two likely title contenders at home in less than a week with Melbourne City to visit next Friday night.

Lowe will be restricted to the stands at Suncorp Stadium as he serves a two-week touchline ban for abusing a referee at half-time of last week's impressive smash-and-grab 3-2 win over City at AAMI Park. Aloisi believes Perth's players will miss his presence.

"I think they will because Kenny, you know what he's like," he said. "He's jumping around, he's infectious.

"How can you not lift as a player when you've got someone like him, not only yelling at you but so emotional on the sideline? The players will probably lose a little."

Perth have won only twice in 16 attempts at Suncorp Stadium, their last victory coming nearly four years ago.

"We know that Perth hate travelling here -- you just have to look at their results in the past. It's a tough trip for them," Aloisi said.
