Melbourne Victory's Besart Berisha ready for A-League elimination final

There's a growing sense of optimism in Melbourne Victory ranks that they're making moves at the right time of the A-League season.

Positive results have returned, with Kevin Muscat's side on a six-match unbeaten streak in the A-League and Asian Champions League (ACL).

The return to fitness of Carl Valeri, and now defender Nick Ansell, adds to the momentum.

On Tuesday night, Victory received the icing on their cake when striker Besart Berisha was cleared by a FFA tribunal to play in Friday night's elimination final with Brisbane.

Berisha missed Saturday's match with the Roar, when the A-League champions drew a blank after reverting to a 4-2-2-2 formation instead of their usual 4-2-3-1.

Teammate Kosta Barbarouses cheered the result on Wednesday.

"We're really delighted to have Bes available. It's a huge asset having him in our team," Barbarouses said.

"Without him, we obviously had to play a little bit differently. Having him back, it's business as usual."

Berisha's availability also means for the first time this season, Victory have every squad member on call.

Valeri's four-month stretch on the sidelines with inflammation affecting his brain, combined with Ansell's off-on injury run, has denied Muscat the chance to field his preferred squad all season.

That changes on Friday night and Barbarouses cannot wait to get on the pitch and continue their good form. "We're coming off some good form as well," he said. "It's a massive thing in the A-League to have everyone available ... we need as many bodies as we can, especially with the Champions League as well.

"Things are in place for us to do well on Friday night and give it our best shot and we're pretty confident we can."

Victory's run through the finals could prolong Barbarouses' A-League career for the club.

Like teammate Gui Finkler, the Kiwi winger has agreed a move to Wellington Phoenix for next season and he said he expected to become emotional over the coming weeks.

Finkler played his last home match in the 0-0 draw with Brisbane but, as an ACL squad member, Barbarouses will finish up either on the May 3 date with Gamba Osaka, or a round-of-16 match-up later in May.

"It's hitting me a little bit now," he said. "But it's giving me a boost to want to go out on a high.

"What better way to be successful in this finals series and help the team progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League."
