Perth Glory's Diego Castro in doubt for Melbourne City clash - Kenny Lowe

Perth Glory coach Kenny Lowe can't guarantee star duo Diego Castro and Chris Harold will return for Sunday's A-League elimination final against Melbourne City.

Castro and Harold both missed last week's 4-0 loss to Sydney due to minor hamstring niggles.

They were put through their paces in Perth over the weekend, but Lowe said he was not yet in a position to declare them as certain starters for the AAMI Park fixture.

"To be truthful I don't know," Lowe said of Castro's availability. "He's trained the last two days. He's had no reaction.

"We didn't rest him [against Sydney]. He actually couldn't play."

Harold and Castro have combined for 20 goals this season, playing crucial roles in Perth's surge towards the finals.

Castro is one of the favourites to be crowned the league's best player this season, the Spanish forward's creativity vital to any title ambitions the Glory may have.

Despite being thrashed by Sydney, the Glory enter the finals as one of the form sides of the competition, winning 10 of their past 12 matches.

It's a far cry from a year ago, when Glory were stripped of their spot in the finals after being found guilty of rorting the salary cap.

A mass player exodus in the wake of that controversy threatened to cripple Glory for years, but some smart recruitment during the January transfer window helped sparked a revival.

"Holistically if you look at everything that's happened over the past 12 months, we have risen," Lowe said.

"Over two seasons now, we've got the most points in the A-league out of any club. And we've been to two FFA Cup finals.

"And that's all on the back of three crises. That's success in any shape or form.

"But we haven't won anything. That's the mark of a good club -- you've got to win things."
