Brisbane Roar close gap at top of A-League with Melbourne City win

Brisbane Roar moved to within two points of A-League leaders Western Sydney Wanderers with a 3-1 win over Melbourne City.

The Roar took a 1-0 lead when Patrick Kisnorbo deflected a Shane Stefanutto cross into his own net. Brandon Borrello increased Brisbane's advantage five minutes before the break.

City closed the gap through Bruno Fornaroli's 10th goal of the season just after half-time before Henrique sealed the win with a goal from halfway in the final minute.

Earlier on Sunday, Melbourne Victory striker Besart Berisha scored a first-half penalty but Diego Castro also converted from the spot with 15 minutes remaining to give Perth Glory a 1-1 draw against the defending champions.

Victory, coming off four consecutive losses, remain in fifth place, nine points behind Western Sydney. Perth are in ninth place in the 10-team league with 12 points.
