Pablo Sanchez's quickfire double gave Adelaide United a fifth win in seven A-League games this season away at Central Coast Mariners. Sanchez scored twice in three minutes at the end of the first half and Nick Montgomery's dismissal 20 minutes from time damaged the Mariners' chances of a comeback. The 2-0 result leaves Adelaide one point behind early pace-setters Perth Glory. Central Coast have just one win to their name and are only three points above bottom club Western Sydney Wanderers. On Saturday, Melbourne City FC were beaten 2-1 at home by Sydney FC, who sit comfortably in fourth after the victory. Marc Janko opened the scoring on 10 minutes before the forward doubled their lead late in the second half, with Erik Paartalu netting a consolation for Melbourne City FC in the 88th minute.
