Australia's Tim Cahill fit to travel to Honduras but Robbie Kruse misses out

Australia striker Tim Cahill is fit enough to travel for the Socceroos' World Cup qualifier in Honduras, though another forward has succumbed to injury.

Robbie Kruse will travel straight to Australia for the second leg and miss the first leg because of a knee knock.

But Cahill -- who rolled his ankle on A-League duty on Friday night -- will make his way to Central America on Monday, delaying his passage by a day to help recover from the injury.

"Cahill's delayed departure to Honduras is part of the monitoring and rehabilitation process that has been put in place for an ankle injury," FFA said in a statement on Sunday.

Cahill's availability for Friday's game in San Pedro Sula will remain a late decision.

The 37-year-old is Australia's leading striker after helping the Socceroos defeat Syria in the Asian playoff last month.
