Aaron Mooy has been named Player of the Year by his peers, claiming Professional Footballers Australia (PFA)'s annual award.
Australia midfielder Mooy enjoyed a tremendous 2015-16 season in the A-League with Melbourne City and created a memorable partnership with Golden Boot winner Bruno Fornaroli before being picked up by Premier League club Manchester City.
The 26-year-old is currently out on loan with Championship side Huddersfield Town, where he has scored twice in 19 appearances, with the side eighth in the table.

Mooy follows several greats of the Australian game in collecting the award and said: "To join the likes of Mark Schwarzer and Tim Cahill is an honour and one I am proud of.
"To be chosen by the players makes this award very special.
"I'm very thankful for the support of my family through the good times and bad, my teammates and all the players who voted for me. It was a great year for me and I'm very proud to have been named the player of the year."
Mooy was joined on the winners list by Brisbane Roar striker Jamie Maclaren, who was named the Young Footballer of the Year, while Matildas goalkeeper Lydia Williams won her second PFA Women's Footballer of the Year award.
"Over the past few years we have had a really hectic schedule and a lot of ups and downs and to have the backing of the girls means so much," Williams said.
Socceroos legend Harry Kewell was also named the Alex Tobin Medallist in recognition of his contribution to the sport.
