Sam Kerr confirms future will be announced 'very soon' amid Chelsea rumours

Sam Kerr is remaining coy about her club future amid rumours that a deal has been struck with Chelsea, preferring to focus on a much-needed holiday instead.

"You will see very soon," she said after Australia's 1-0 win against Chile in a friendly in Adelaide on Tuesday night.

"Honestly, I'm just excited for it to all to get out there for everyone to see."

Kerr declined to detail an announcement time-frame, instead preferring to sights set on a holiday.

The 26-year-old has been playing constantly, rotating between Perth Glory in Australia's W-League and Chicago Red Stars in the United States' National Women's Soccer League.

"For now, I'm on a break for three weeks ... it's much-needed," Kerr said.

Asked how many games she had played in a year which included a World Cup campaign, Kerr replied: "Too many.

"No -- a lot, a lot.

"And I'm really looking forward to a break. It's the first time ever I have had scheduled time off where I can go on a holiday and take care of myself.

"It's my body -- obviously I have been going back and forth [between Australia and the U.S.] -- but also my mind. I have been going non-stop.

"And the Matildas have gained a whole lot of exposure in the last few years so our lives have changed dramatically.

"It will just be nice to turn off from football and enjoy myself."

Kerr planned time with her Perth-based family before holidaying in Bali after playing a customary leading role in the Matildas' sweep of the two-game friendly series against Chile.

After scoring both goals in a 2-1 win in Sydney last Saturday, Kerr was again in the spotlight in the 1-0 triumph in Adelaide.

Kerr missed several scoring chances, including a penalty, summing up Australia's performances where winning margins in both games could have been greater.

"We haven't been together in nearly four months," Kerr said. "A lot of girls are on preseason [or] coming back from injury.

"The most important thing for us this week is that we won both games and we got a few players minutes and we picked up players like [debutant] Jenna [McCormick] this week.

"So all in all, it's obviously nice to win. We know we can get better but we're not frustrated.

"We're happy that we got through this injury free. It's a starting point."

The Matildas' next fixtures are Olympic Games qualifiers from Feb. 3 to 9 next year.

Australia have been grouped with China, Taiwan and Thailand in the first phase of qualification for the Tokyo Games starting in late July.

The other group features Myanmar, North Korea, South Korea and Vietnam.

The top two nations from each group advance to crossover playoffs on March 6 and 11 to be played home and away, with the two playoff winners securing their Olympic spot.
