Atletico's Diego Simeone quiet on PSG speculation after Europa win

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone quickly shut down any questions about links to taking over Paris Saint-Germain after watching his side cruise to a 3-0 Europa League win over Lokomotiv Moscow on Thursday.

Reports have speculated that Simeone could be in line to replace Unai Emery at PSG next season after their Champions League exit this week, though sources have told ESPN that Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea's Antonio Conte are the top names on the French club's wish list.

But asked what he thought of the situation in Paris, Simeone responded only "Celta Vigo" -- the name of Atletico's next opponents in La Liga.

Saul Niguez, Diego Costa and Koke were all on target at the Wanda Metropolitano to take the pressure off ahead of next week's trip to Russia.

"In the whole match we were superior," Simeone said. "In the first half we did not play so well, had to answer some questions that they had posed.

"In the second half we stopped them better. With three in between we had more tranquility and the game was more continuous and fast.

"We will have to adapt in the best way so that this result has weight in the second leg."

Simeone also said he had no concerns with the performance of goalkeeper Axel Werner, who started with regular No. 1 Jan Oblak out injured.

"He's young, he conveyed confidence and even though they didn't trouble us much, we trusted him," Simeone said."We hope he'll continue to respond in the same way because these opportunities don't arrive by chance."
