Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone isn't leaving club - Antoine Griezmann

Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann says Diego Simeone won't leave the club this summer.

The 46-year-old Simeone has led Atletico to a La Liga title and two appearances in the Champions League final over the past three years.

Simeone indicated he would consider his options this offseason in the wake of last month's UCL final defeat to Real Madrid at San Siro.

A source close to the Atleti hierarchy told ESPN FC last week that Simeone has been deeply affected by the loss to their Madrid rival, which was the second in three years to the same club at the same stage.

Paris Saint-Germain has showed interest in having the former River Plate boss most recently, with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi hinting that current coach Laurent Blanc could be replaced after the club's failure to beat Manchester City at the quarterfinal stage of Europe's top club competition this past season.

But Griezmann, who has blossomed under Simeone at the Vicente Calderon, told BeIN Sports France he is sure the influential manager will remain at the club.

"He's not going to leave," Griezmann said on Monday. "I spoke with him and I'm quite sure that he's going to stay."

Griezmann scored 32 goals in 54 matches this season for Atletico, helping Los Colchoneros to a third-place La Liga finish in addition to a place in the Champions League final.
