Atlanta United's Miguel Almiron says he's ready to play in Europe

As he prepares to feature in his second MLS All-Star Game in his second season in the league, Miguel Almiron says he's ready to play in Europe.

The 24-year-old chose to leave Lanus for Atlanta United ahead of the 2017 season, and has made an instant impact in North America, scoring 17 goals and 25 assists in 53 appearances in Major League Soccer.

Almiron believes that level of production has prepared him to play in one of Europe's top leagues. During an exclusive interview ahead of Wednesday's MLS All-Star Game against Juventus (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN), Almiron was asked if he was ready for the challenge of European football.

"Yes, yes I think so," Almiron told ESPN.

In the months leading up to the Paraguayan's arrival in Atlanta, he'd been linked with a move to Arsenal. And after a season and a half of impressive performances in MLS, conversation has turned to whether he could soon be playing in Europe, and if so, where.

"It's a very nice thing for me [to hear about potential offers from European clubs]," Almiron told ESPN. "Personally, it makes me feel really good because of the work I'm doing every day.

"As I've said before, I try not to look at these things too much so I don't go crazy. My objective has always been to go to Europe."

While the Gunners were interested in Almiron two summers ago, the man at the head of their recruitment at that time, Arsene Wenger, left the club this summer.

Almiron spoke positively of the Premier League, but said that he hasn't decided on which league he would like to play in.

"I don't have a specific place in mind. I like the Premier League and I think they play a beautiful and competitive style of soccer."
