Radja Nainggolan signs new Roma contract until 2021

Radja Nainggolan has dispelled fears for his future as a Roma player by signing a new contract with the Serie A club until 2021.

The Belgian had been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, but he has underlined his commitment to the Giallorossi by signing a new four-year deal during their tour of the United States, and in the presence of club president James Pallotta.

"I think I have demonstrated that this is what I always wanted," Nainggolan told asroma.com. "So I'm very happy, especially that the club and I can continue our adventure and move forward together."

Nainggolan has made 161 appearances for Roma since joining them from Cagliari in January 2014, and he has scored 27 goals in that time.

"We're delighted Radja has committed his long-term future -- and the most important years of his career -- to the club," said Pallotta.

"Last season, he was arguably one of the best midfielders in the world and it's no surprise that he was linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

"But there was never any question of him going elsewhere -- he loves Roma and we love having him here."
