Roma striker Edin Dzeko says he isn't surprised by his goal-scoring feats this season after hitting a hat trick in his side's 4-0 Europa League round-of-32 first-leg defeat of Villarreal on Thursday. Serie A's joint-top scorer with 18, Dzeko found the net in the 65th, 79th and 86th minute against the Yellow Submarine to take his Europa tally to a competition-best eight thus far. And the former Manchester City man says his convincing campaign has been what he envisioned for himself all along. "No, it's not a surprise for me because I've always scored goals -- just last year was a bit different," Dzeko told the club's website. "This is where I'm at now and I want to push on and prove I can do even better." Emerson opened the scoring for the Giallorossi at the Estadio de la Ceramica on 32 minutes, with Dzeko's second-half barrage completing the rout in Spain ahead of the second leg. And the Bosnia-Herzegovina international praised his team's performance on the night. "We were fantastic. We gave nothing away at the back and put four goals past a solid Spanish outfit like Villarreal. We were excellent. "Every match is a story unto itself. Sometimes we struggle away from home against the smaller teams in Serie A but we showed just how good we are."
