Thierry Henry: Monaco star Kylian Mbappe has 'Ooh la la' quality

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has told Canal Plus that Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe is "a kid who can go a long way in the game."

Mbappe, who has been compared by France head coach Didier Deschamps to Henry, has scored 19 goals this season and became the youngest player to represent France for more than 60 years.

Henry said the 18-year-old "has a good head on his shoulders," adding that he enjoyed watching him play.

"I don't like comparing players -- Mbappe has to become Mbappe and that is all," he said.

"But my word, he is good. Ooh la la! l really like watching him play. When you have kid with that much talent, what are you going to teach him apart from a few tactical things?"

Henry said Mbappe should focus on developing his "intelligence and movement" in matches.

"Understand quickly who is weak in the match, who you should attack and who you shouldn't attack," he added. "I met him and he gave me the impression that he has a good head on his shoulders.

"When I watch him dribble, he is thinking. He thinks when he plays and that for me is the most important thing in a player.

"Yes, he is quick, but he is thinking -- and that is the sign of a kid who can go a long way in the game."

Mbappe will move to a club like Real Madrid or Barcelona at some point in his career, his Monaco teammate Fabinho says.

With a number of Europe's top sides reportedly interested in signing him in the summer, Fabinho told Chuteira FC: "We know that sooner or later he'll go to a club like Real Madrid, Barcelona or another club of that calibre.

"But until then, we're going to enjoy him at Monaco."
