Arsenal 'more organised' under Unai Emery than Arsene Wenger - Hector Bellerin

Arsenal will be "more organised on the pitch" under Unai Emery than they were under Arsene Wenger, who gave the players "a lot of freedom," according to defender Hector Bellerin,

Bellerin, 22, has taken part in preseason training from day one under Emery. That has already given him a chance to hone his tactical skills, which the new head coach puts more emphasis on than Wenger did.

"The training has been way different," Bellerin said. "We work on different things to how we did with the boss [Wenger]. Both coaches have philosophies that are different. Arsene Wenger was a manager that led a lot of inspiration from the players. He gave you a lot of freedom.

"Unai Emery is a bit more tactical. We are going to be more organised on the pitch and they are different philosophies that have worked for them both. We are getting used to it, working really hard, everyone is really excited."

While it has taken some time to get used to all the new faces and new methods, Bellerin insisted the entire squad is buying into Emery's approach.

"It has been very different for everyone," he said. "Mr. Wenger had been at the club 22 years. When a new coach comes in, lots of things change, not just on the pitch but the backroom staff is different. A lot of people that weren't here before are now here. Every change is always for the better.

"They had a lot experts looking for a coach and if they think Unai Emery is the one, he will be. He has great experience in Spain, he has been at the top level and even with teams that have not had the best players, he has made them competitive."

Bellerin added that the addition of veteran right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner can help his own development.

He faces added competition for a starting role this season after Arsenal signed Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus.

However, he is excited about the arrival of the 34-year-old Switzerland captain -- who could also provide the kind of mentor he has been lacking in his position.

"He is a great addition to the squad, with loads of experience," Bellerin told reporters during Arsenal's trip to Singapore. "He is a top defender but he has a really good attacking sense as well. As a young defender, it is really good to have someone like that to learn from."

Bellerin also discussed his decision to become a vegan after talking to boxer David Haye, saying it has helped his body recover quicker over the last year.
