Arsenal's record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has urged Arsene Wenger to pair him with fellow striker Alexandre Lacazette. Aubemeyang has scored six goals in his first seven games for the Gunners, but his January arrival from Borussia Dortmund saw Lacazette dropped to the bench before the France striker was then sidelined by injury. Lacazette is back to fitness but looks set to be used mainly in the Europa League, in which Aubameyang is cup-tied, with the Frenchman having been on the bench in both Premier League games since his return. But Aubameyang told Sky Sports: "I hope we will have the opportunity to play together -- it's something I said when I first arrived that I hoped to play with him. "We have different styles, but I think they're styles that complement each other -- he's a very good player and a very kind person. "We were once rivals in our days in France, but we're now friends and I hope we can play well together and score lots of goals." Lacazette has shown good form since his return, scoring a penalty against Stoke and netting twice against CSKA Moscow in Arsenal's 4-1 win in the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinals. Wenger said after the Stoke game that he could use both strikers together, although that would probably mean Aubameyang moving out to the wing. "Yes I think they can play together," he said. "Aubameyang has played a long part of his career on the left, at Saint-Etienne. "And the first two years when [Robert] Lewandowski was at Borussia Dortmund he played on the left. And after, when Lewandowski moved to Bayern Munich, he played centrally." Aubameyang defended Wenger from what he called "unfair" criticism during a disappointing season, with the Gunners set to miss out on the Premier League top four and losing the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City. Asked whether the manager deserved the criticism he has received, Aubameyang said: "It's a difficult question. Sometimes I think it's a bit unfair. "We're playing better in these last games, and I hope the people can see this."
