Martin Keown: It 'looks like the end' for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal

Arsenal great Martin Keown says Arsene Wenger will have to consider stepping down as manager at the end of the season if the Gunners' form does not improve.

Arsenal are in seventh place in the Premier League after Wednesday's 0-0 draw at West Ham, 19 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Keown, who was part of Wenger's three league title wins between 1998 and 2004, told BT Sport that it "looks like the end" of the manager's time in charge.

"If it doesn't get much better for him then at the end of the season he has to hold his hands up and say: 'Maybe I'm not the man to take this club forward,'" Keown added.

"Champions League is looking now like it's not going to happen for Arsene Wenger, and the questions will come again -- is he going to be there next season or not?"

Wenger was handed a new two-year deal in May despite failing to finish in the top four for the first time during his Arsenal career last season, and the club have already lost five league matches this term. In away games, they have just two wins in nine league matches.
