Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil to report for international duty - source

Arsenal duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are both expected to report for international duty despite injury concerns, a source has told ESPN FC.

Sanchez injured his ankle during Saturday's 3-1 loss at West Brom, while Ozil missed that match altogether with a hamstring problem. However, an Arsenal club source said both players will join up with their national teams, although it remains unclear if they are fit to play.

Sanchez's Chile face Argentina and Venezuela in key World Cup qualifiers, while Ozil's Germany take on England in a friendly on Wednesday before a qualifying game against Azerbaijan.

Ozil has yet to start a game for Arsenal since their 5-1 loss at Bayern Munich on Feb. 15, missing a couple of games with an illness. He trained as normal last week, but was not in the squad for the West Brom game. A club source told ESPN FC that he missed out with a "tight hamstring" in order to not risk his fitness.

Sanchez was hurt after a tough tackle shortly before the halftime break at West Brom but kept playing until he was taken off with 12 minutes left. Manager Arsene Wenger said after the game that his ankle was "in an absolutely terrible state" and that he should not have continued playing.

Both Ozil and Sanchez have refused to sign contract extensions with the club so far despite their current deals expiring after next season, increasing speculation that the club could be forced to sell their star duo this summer.
