Arsenal's Alex Iwobi is 'fine,' Laurent Koscielny to return to training - source

Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi does not have an injury while centre-back Laurent Koscielny should be back in training soon after a hamstring problem, a club source has told ESPN FC.

Iwobi, 20, raised fears about his fitness after posting a picture of a bandaged ankle on Snapchat following Monday's 2-0 win over Sutton in the FA Cup, but the Nigeria international is "fine," the source said.

Koscielny, 31, has also recovered well from the hamstring problem that forced him off in the second half of last week's 5-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League and is expected to be back in training in the next few days.

Mohamed Elneny, who was substituted with an ankle problem against Sutton, will have an assessment later on Wednesday to determine the severity of his injury.

Arsenal do not have a game this weekend as their Premier League clash with Southampton was postponed because of the Saints' involvement in the EFL Cup final on Sunday.

But Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has opted against taking the team abroad for warm-weather training during the break.

Instead, the players were given Tuesday and Wednesday off before resuming normal training at London Colney on Thursday.

Players who were not involved against Sutton, such as Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud and Petr Cech, have had a few extra days off to rest.

However, the club source said Ozil's decision to go back home to Germany for a few days was not related to any injury problem, with The Times reporting that he had been given time off to recover from back spasms.

He is expected to be fit for Arsenal's next game at Liverpool on March 4. Aaron Ramsey, who has been sidelined with a calf strain, could also be in line for a return at Anfield.
