Arsenal striker Lucas Perez wants to succeed at the club - agent

The agent of Arsenal's Lucas Perez has told ESPN FC the striker is frustrated by a lack of playing time but still "wants to succeed there."

Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle had been quoted by Italian website Calciomercato as saying Lucas "desperately wants to leave" in the summer after being used sparingly by Arsene Wenger.

But when contacted by ESPN FC, he wrote in an email: "Lucas has a contract with Arsenal, he wants to succeed there and, as any professional, wants to play.

"When one does not play, one is not happy."

Lovelle would not confirm or deny whether the quotes attributed to him by Calciomercato were accurate, but added in a text message: "Lucas now only thinks about this season and playing for Arsenal."

Lucas was signed from Deportivo La Coruna for £17 million but has only started nine games in all competitions.

The Spanish striker has notched up six goals and five assists, scoring a hat trick against Basel in the Champions League.

Calciomercato had quoted Lovelle as saying: "Look, the truth is Lucas desperately wants to leave -- he's not happy at Arsenal.

"He's never settled in and he's never had any opportunity to play and put himself in the window.

"He's not received any offer yet. Lucas, if he leaves London -- and he will, considering that he's never had any chances with Wenger -- wants to go and play for another club as big as Arsenal."
