Arsenal to offer Hector Bellerin new contract - sources

Arsenal are preparing to offer defender Hector Bellerin a new deal to secure his future at the Emirates Stadium, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.

Bellerin's future has been the subject of speculation recently with Manchester City and Barcelona both reportedly keeping tabs on his situation.

The 21-year-old has three years to run on his current deal, but Arsenal are keen to offer him lucrative new terms in a bid to ward off potential interest.

Bellerin joined Arsenal from Barcelona as a 16-year-old in 2011 and the Catalan club have continued to monitor his progress, with vice-president Jordi Mestre expressing his admiration for the player.

He has established himself as Arsenal's first-choice right-back and has broken into the Spain national team following two consistent seasons for Arsenal.

Arsenal are already in talks with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez and they are hoping to reward Bellerin's progress and ensure he remains happy at the club by offering him a new five-year deal.

Sources told ESPN FC that Arsenal have made contact with Bellerin's representatives to express their willingness to offer him a new deal and talks are expected to get underway soon.
