Arsenal confident over Ozil deal as doubts linger over Sanchez - sources

Arsenal are confident of agreeing a new deal with Mesut Ozil but doubts remain over whether Alexis Sanchez will commit to a new contract, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.

The Gunners have been in talks with the duo over new long-term deals for several months, with their current contracts due to expire in 2018.

Sources close to the club have told ESPN FC that negotiations with Ozil are progressing well, with the player settled in North London.

However, there are concerns over Sanchez, amid claims that he wants a buy-out clause inserted in any new contract as well as a big pay rise.

Italian champions Juventus were linked with a move for Sanchez in the summer and they are continuing to keep tabs on the forward's situation at the Emirates Stadium.

Chile international Sanchez signed for Arsenal from Barcelona for around £35 million in 2014, while Germany international Ozil joined for a club-record £42.5m from Real Madrid in 2013.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger recently revealed negotiations were set to resume with both players as the club look to secure their futures.
