Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger can't wait to face Fabio Capello

Arsene Wenger is looking forward to seeing old friend Fabio Capello managing in England again -- if only for a day -- and has praised the Italian's contributions the game.

Wenger and Capello will be the managers when a team of Arsenal Legends take on Milan Glorie at the Emirates in September for a charity game.

While most of the focus will be on seeing former greats like Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp playing together again, Wenger seemed equally pleased about the prospect of reuniting with the former England manager.

"What Capello has achieved in the game is tremendous and it is good to see him back," Wenger told Arsenal's official website. "At the moment he doesn't work. ... He will certainly be very happy as well to come back to the Emirates and be on the bench."

Capello, 70, has not taken on a new job since being fired by Russia last year. After a stellar career in club management that saw him win titles at AC Milan, Real Madrid and Roma, Capello took over England in 2008 but left the post before the European Championship in 2012.

While Wenger and Capello were in regular contact during the Italian's years in charge of the Three Lions, he said their friendship dates back more than 25 years.

"He was managing Milan and I was in Monaco, so we met. Italy and France are very close countries, but I've known him for a long, long time," Wenger said.

And the Frenchman, who like Capello knows what it's like to face criticism from fans and media, said the two normally have plenty to talk about when they meet.

"You share ideas, you share worries and you share experience and you share the suffering," he said. "We are in a job where if you are masochistic you get a lot of pleasure so that unites people as well."
