Petr Cech: Arsenal face Champions League 'grand finale' at Olympiakos

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has said the Gunners are ready for a "grand finale" at Olympiakos, where a win by two goals would secure a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger's side beat Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 at the Emirates on Tuesday, with Alexis Sanchez scoring twice, to keep their chances of qualification from Group F alive.

Bayern Munich's 4-0 victory over Olympiakos also helped the Londoners' cause, and Cech said the two results had combined to create "a playoff situation."

"We did our bit, they [Bayern Munich] did their bit and it is now a grand finale for us in the last game," the former Chelsea goalkeeper told reporters after the match.

"We are going into a playoff situation and we know what we need to get, so hopefully we will be ready for that."

With Bayern's win guaranteeing their qualification from the group, Arsenal and Olympiakos are now in a straight fight for second place.

The Gunners lost their first two games in the Champions League, in Zagreb and at home to Olympiakos, but got their comeback in the group under way with an outstanding home win over Bayern.

"If we create chances, play our game and put Olympiakos under pressure, we have a chance to score our goals in the game and make the difference we need," Cech said.

"So we can go in a confident mood because a few rounds ago we were almost out of the competition.

"Now we have everything in our hands to progress. We need to make sure we go there and get the result and get in the draw for the last 16."

Wenger, who now prepares his side for a Premier League game at Norwich on Sunday, said his side had a chance to "make right what we didn't do right until now."

"At least tonight we have come out with a chance," he told reporters. "We wanted to come out of the game with a chance to qualify.

"We needed to do the job, and Bayern needed to beat Olympiakos. Both did it well and it gives us a chance. How big the chance is I don't know, but I believe we can do it."
