Petr Cech says relationship with Chelsea's Jose Mourinho still strong

Petr Cech has maintained there are no hard feelings between himself and Jose Mourinho regarding the former Chelsea keeper's move to London rivals Arsenal this summer.

Cech transferred to the Emirates in June after Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic vetoed Mourinho's suggestion to not let the longtime Blues shot-stopper head to a rival.

Mourinho has since come to terms with the decision and even praised his boss for letting the Champions League winner head to a Premier League contender. And Cech, who is set to face his former club in the Community Shield on Sunday, insisted he and the Portuguese coach are on good terms.

"Chelsea could have said no to me and said I must sit out the final year of my contract," the Czech international said on Wednesday

"Has it soured relations between myself and Jose? Not at all. He made his decision but that will never change the respect we have for each other."

While he won a number of trophies at Stamford Bridge, Sunday's match is Cech's first shot at silverware with his new club. And he won't let sentimentality cloud his focus.

"All that we won together is something I'll never forget," he added.

"It'll be an unknown feeling for me to play against Chelsea.

"Once I am on the pitch I want to win, I want the best for my teammates, my club and the fans.

"For those 90 minutes there are no friends."
