Arsenal's Wellington Silva to go on loan after agreeing new deal - sources

Arsenal are ready to send Wellington Silva out on loan to an English club after agreeing a new contract with the Brazilian, sources have told ESPN FC.

Arsenal have been in talks to tie the 22-year-old forward down to a new contract with his previous deal due to expire in 2016 and sources told ESPN FC that, now they have agreed a new long-term deal, the club feel he would be best served to go out loan next season so that he can adapt to English football.

Wellington has spent the last five seasons on loan in Spain -- at Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina, Murcia and Almeria -- after not being not granted a work permit following his arrival at the club from Fluminese in 2011.

However, despite having not made his debut for the Gunners, the Brazilian was granted his work permit in April having been given Spanish citizenship, clearing the way for him to finally play in England.

A number of Premier League and Championship clubs have already been alerted to Wellington's availability and manager Arsene Wenger will decide on the player's future in the next few weeks.

Wellington was not included in the 27-man squad to tour Singapore and his options of first-team football at the Emirates are limited with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil in his way.
