Wellington Silva has been granted a Spanish passport, clearing the way for him to finally play for Arsenal.
Wellington, 22, signed for Arsenal from Fluminense in 2011 but has been unable to feature for the club as he was not granted a work permit to play in England.
The Brazilian forward has since been sent on loan to five different Spanish clubs, and he is currently playing at Almeria.
But Wellington could be part of manager Arsene Wenger's plans next season after acquiring nationality of a European Union nation.
"The good thing is slow in coming, but arrives with the greatest satisfaction in the world," he wrote on his Twitter account.
Lo bueno tarda en llegar, pero llega y lo recibo con la mayor satisfacción del mundo. Nacionalidad española !! pic.twitter.com/GWFo9wYWzB
