Lukas Podolski should speak to Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger and then find a solution to solve his situation at the Emirates, Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff has said.
Despite the ongoing Arsenal injury crisis, Podolski, 29, has found it extremely difficult to break into Wenger's starting lineup in what is his third season at the Emirates.
He has made only three brief appearances in the Premier League so far this season and one in Europe, although he started in the 2-1 defeat to Southampton in the Capital One Cup.
The World Cup winner was heavily linked with a move away from the club in the summer, but Wenger opted to keep him, and last week he made his frustration public when he told German TV station RTL that he is considering leaving Arsenal in the winter.
"I love competition. And when I don't have that competition every weekend, there has to be a change," he said.
"We'll see about [a possible transfer in January]. But I have to at least give it a thought."
The Germany international is currently with Die Nationalmannschaft as they prepare to play Podolski's country of birth Poland before then facing Republic of Ireland in the upcoming 2016 European Championship qualifiers.
The Arsenal attacker was already demoted to a fringe player at the World Cup, but has been called up by Germany coach Joachim Low despite his domestic struggles.

"He is a unique lad, and he's an important part of our squad, not only on the pitch," Bierhoff, a member of Low's backroom staff, told a news conference on Wednesday.
"And I can understand that when he is struggling for minutes, he considers his future because he wants to play football.
"I would advise him to seek talks with the coach, and to find a solution which fits both sides. I hope that, should he make a switch, his path will lead him to a club that will give him continuity."
