Sergio Aguero, Javier Pastore to miss Argentina's qualifiers injured

Sergio Aguero and Javier Pastore have been ruled out of Argentina's World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Venezuela through injury.

The Argentine FA (AFA) announced that the pair had been ruled out of action, with Aguero sustaining a calf problem during Manchester City's 3-1 victory over West Ham United on Sunday, while Pastore has a foot injury.

Aguero was substituted in the 88th minute at the Etihad Stadium, while Pastore missed PSG's 3-1 loss at Monaco.

Argentina, currently third in the CONMEBOL qualification group, host Uruguay on Sept. 2 before facing Venezuela away on Sept. 7.

Aguero could also face a domestic ban if the English FA decides to pursue retrospective action after an apparent elbow on West Ham defender Winston Reid.

Also on Monday, Lionel Messi's participation was put in doubt after Barcelona issued a statement saying that their star has a sore left hamstring.
