Argentina's Lionel Messi won't be man-marked - Bolivia coach

Bolivia head coach Julio Cesar Baldivieso has said his side have no plans to man-mark Argentina captain Lionel Messi.

Argentina host Bolivia in a 2018 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday following a 2-1 win over Chile last Thursday.

Barcelona star Messi is set to Argentina's main attacking danger but -- with other stars such as Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria and Gonzalo Higuain in the squad -- Bolivia will not make any specifics plans for the 28-year-old.

"There won't be special marking on Messi," Baldivieso, whose side lost 3-2 to Colombia last week, said. "Football is played 11 against 11 and we are a team.

"To play against the best in the world has to be a motivation for the players."

Last week, Argentina stars Sergio Aguero and Javier Mascherano expressed concern over the state of the pitch at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes ahead of the meeting with Bolivia.

Recent rock concerts have left the pitch in poor condition and, while ground staff are working against the clock to improve it, Aguero said the players had spoken about the situation en route to Argentina.

Baldivieso said ahead of the match: "We'll practice at another venue this evening to settle on our team for tomorrow."

Argentina are currently fifth in the CONMEBOL qualifying table, five points behind leaders Ecuador, while Bolivia are ninth in the 10-team standings.
