Paulo Dybala proud of Argentine teammate Lionel Messi's praise

Argentina striker Paulo Dybala
Paulo Dybala is hoping for a chance to play alongside Lionel Messi for Argentina.

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala cannot wait to play alongside Barcelona's Lionel Messi as Argentina prepare for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia on March 25 and 30 respectively.

Dybala, 22, has been a revelation since joining Juventus from Palermo last year, and has already scored 14 goals to help the Turin giants to the top of the Serie A table.

His club form has prompted Argentina head coach Gerardo Martino to call him up for the next two games, alongside a stellar cast of attackers like Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain, Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero and Messi.

Despite having not played with Dybala before, Messi, has already described the former as a worthy successor to his place in the national team, something that has given the Juventus attacker a huge boost of confidence ahead of the qualifiers.

"To have an idol in a player like Messi, and to have him say these things makes me proud," Dybala told El Chiringuito.

"I want to say that I'm working well, doing good things and that I have to continue down this road."

The pair have never played on the same team in a competitive match, and the games against Chile and Bolivia could see Martino tinker with his starting line-up, to see if Messi and Dybala can combine to great effect.

"When I was with the national team, he was injured and we couldn't get together." Dybala said. "Now if everything goes well, we'll have an opportunity to get to know each other.

"They have the best players in the world at the moment and, going forward, there's no other team who attack like Barcelona."

While he has always looked up to Messi as his 'idol', Portugal and Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is another player who Dybala admires, for his goal scoring prowess throughout his career.

"Ronaldo shows the class of player he is in every game," he added. "He's an admirable footballer because, logically, everyone who plays in that position would like to be able to score all the goals he does."

Argentina are in sixth place with five points from four matches in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers. Consecutive victories away to Chile on March 25 and Bolivia five days later will see the Albicelestes close the gap on Ecuador who top the standings with 12 points.
