Sergio Aguero, left, celebrates with his teammates after scoring a goal in Argentina's 2-1 win vs. Ecuador.

Sergio Aguero and Javier Pastore were on target as Argentina wrapped up their US tour with a 2-1 win over Ecuador.

Aguero's early goal gave Argentina the edge, but they needed a second-half strike from Pastore after Miller Bolanos levelled for Ecuador midway through the opening period.

Argentina got the win despite the absence of Lionel Messi, who was forced to watch from the stands in New Jersey with a foot injury.

The 2014 World Cup finalists needed only eight minutes to get their noses in front, with Aguero heading home after Pastore flicked on Angel di Maria's corner kick.

But Argentina seemed to ease off after taking the lead, and Ecuador were able to come forward more.

That paid off in the 24th minute when Bolanos beat Sergio Romero with a right-footed shot to level.

However, Pastore's volleyed strike in the 58th minute restored Argentina's lead and this time they were able to see the match out without further trouble.

The match was Argentina's penultimate warm-up before the Copa America in Chile this summer.

They face Bolivia on June 6 before the Copa kicks off five days later.
