How to fix inconsistent Liverpool

One of the more persistent myths in soccer is that many teams actually play better against good opponents. The theory is that lesser opponents -- concerned only with escaping with a draw -- focus on defending. They take away the space that good teams need to attack and are able to stymie more skilled teams from creating the good chances that they might have in matches contested on equal footing. Thus, the good team flails impotently, their mojo sabotaged, and limps away with a draw that would have been a victory against a better team.
