Liverpool's Mohamed Salah to sit out Egypt's March matches

Mohamed Salah is set to be rested for Egypt's fixtures in March's international break, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) have confirmed to ESPN FC.

Egypt are scheduled to play Niger in their final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier -- a tournament they have already qualified for -- before travelling to Nigeria for a friendly.

And EFA spokesperson Osama Ismail said the Liverpool forward would not feature in the fixtures taking place on March 22 and 26.

In October, Salah returned to Liverpool from international duty early after suffering a muscle injury during a match.

Sadio Mane's Senegal and Naby Keita's Guinea have also qualified for this summer's Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Egypt.

Salah, 26, is currently on course to retain his Premier League Golden Boot crown, having scored 16 times already in the league this season.
