The three-man shortlist for the African Footballer of the Year award has been announced and it contains Yaya Toure, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Vincent Enyeama.
Toure, who plies his trade for Manchester City and Ivory Coast, won the CAF award for a third consecutive year in 2013 and can trump Abedi Pele (the only other man to win three in a row) if he bags the prize which will be handed out on Jan. 8.
The 31-year-old midfielder won the Premier League title and the League Cup in a year in which he scored 20 goals in 35 Premier League appearances.
Gabon international Aubameyang joined Borussia Dortmund this summer and scored 13 Bundesliga goals last term to help Jurgen Klopp's men to a second-placed finish and the DFB-Pokal final.
Nigeria captain and Lille goalkeeper Enyeama, 32, took the Super Eagles to the World Cup in Brazil and helped Lille to a third placed finish in Ligue 1 last season.
Ghana's Asamoah Gyan and Nigeria's Ahmed Musa were the two names who were dropped from the list on Thursday.
