Hugo Broos can lead Cameroon to Nations Cup glory with momentum

Hugo Broos
Hugo Broos has the high of the nation on his shoulders.

"Hugo who?" was the cry in Cameroon when they appointed their new national team coach in February.

Hugo Broos might have been among the most successful coaches in Belgian football, on top of a stellar playing career with Anderlecht and Club Brugge, but in the land of the Indomitable Lions he was a virtual unknown.

However, despite the fact his two previous jobs had been in the Algerian league, he could emerge as the man to put Cameroon back on track, particularly in the African Nations Cup (ANC)...

This has led to speculation...

Egypt icon Essam El Hadary bids for ANC, the World Cup and world record

Essam El Hadary, 43, is bidding for African Nations Cup glory and World Cup qualification with Egypt.

If you were asked to guess the age of the goalkeeper with jet black hair and matinee idol looks standing between the sticks for Egypt, you would likely be astonished to find Essam El Hadary is now 43.

A clean sheet against Ghana earlier this month in a vital World Cup qualifier in Alexandria was the latest achievement for a player whose international career has now exceeded two decades.

The game was his 145th for Egypt since his debut against South Korea in March 1996 and if he continues as Hector...
