Ivory Coast, DR Congo reach semis of African Nations Championship

Ivory Coast scored all three of their goals in extra time to defeat Cameroon and advance to the African Nations Championship semifinals on Saturday.

Boua Koffi found the breakthrough four minutes into the extra session and Atcho Djobo put the result out of reach in the 102nd minute.

Serge Yao Nguessan added a third goal for good measure 10 minutes later as Ivory Coast moved on to face the winners of Tunisia and Mali.

Rwanda's run as hosts ended with a 2-1 defeat to DR Congo in the quarterfinals.

DR Congo took the lead through Doxa Gikanji with a shot from the edge of the box on 11 minutes, but Ernest Sugira equalised for Rwanda early in the second half.

The game stayed level into extra time when defender Padou Bompunga headed home to put DR Congo into the semifinals, where they will face the winners of Zambia and Guinea.
