Italy legend Fabio Cannavaro sacked as manager of Qatari club Al-Nassr

Fabio Cannavaro's short spell in charge of Al-Nassr has come to an early end.

Italian World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro has been relieved of his duties as coach of Al-Nassr after just four months, with the club looking increasingly unlikely to defend their Saudi Professional League title.

The 42-year-old -- who previously coached Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande -- took the reins of the defending champions Al-Nassr last October. However, following a 4-3 defeat to Najran last Thursday, Al-Nassr find themselves in sixth place, 18 points behind league leaders Al-Hilal with just...

Xavi, 36, opted for a move to Qatar last year after playing more than 500 games for the Catalan giants and has been ever-present for Al Sadd despite a niggling injury throughout...

TPL clubs Muang Thong United and Chonburi's hopes are over after their playoff matches at Shanghai SIPG and FC Tokyo ended in defeat.

Muang Thong at least held on to their dignity as they put up a good fight against the big-spending Chinese...
