The South Africa-born player came through the ranks at Southampton's famed academy and made over 100 appearances for the club before moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2009.

Surman spent one year at Wolves before joining Norwich and he helped the club win promotion to the Premier League in his first season at the club.
